Our Team
Our biggest strength is the breadth and quality of our team, Board Members, and Advisors. Eva and Hooman Yazhari co-founded Beyond Capital Fund in 2009. They formed the Leadership Team and Board with the goal of bringing together a diverse group of professionals with the complementary skills needed for early-stage impact investing in emerging markets.
Together, our team brings an accumulated 178 years of experience in the hedge fund, asset management, investment banking, venture capital, impact measurement, and corporate restructuring industries.
Eva Yazhari
Co-Founder & CEO
Eva is the Co-Founder and CEO of Beyond Capital Fund. She is also the General Partner of Beyond Capital Ventures. Eva has 16 years of experience in investing for social impact. She was previously a Vice President at EnTrust Capital Inc. Eva is also an angel investor, the founder of The Conscious Investor, co-host of The Beyond Capital Podcast, and author of ‘The Good Your Money Can Do.’
Eva is based in Dallas and travels often to London and LA.
Hooman Yazhari
Co-Founder & Chairman
Hooman is the Co-Founder of Beyond Capital, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and a member of the Investment Committee. Hooman is a highly accomplished CEO and corporate lawyer with a decade of experience as a senior executive in aviation. He has served as a member of the board of several listed and private companies. He currently sits on the boards of Bristow Group and Voyager Aviation.
Hooman is based in Dallas and travels frequently.
Isabelle Schmidt
Operations Associate
Isabelle joined the Beyond Capital team as an Associate in early 2023. She is passionate about serving underrepresented founders, investment managers, and geographies. Prior to Beyond Capital she lived in San Francisco working as an investment and operations analyst for SV LATAM Capital, an early-stage investment firm focused on Latin America.
Isabelle is based in Brooklyn.

John McKenna
Mexico City, Mexico
John is a Beyond Capital Board and Investment Committee Member. After being the Managing Director of Miller Buckfire and Senior Advisor to Stifel Financial, he now does board service, most recently as Chairman of Insys Therapeutics. John also serves on the Board for the New York Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Gate Gourmet, Second Market, Inc., and US Airways.
Marty Kuehne
New York, NY
Marty is a member of the Beyond Capital Board of Directors and serves as a Senior Managing Director at Seabury Group. With more than 30 years of experience in a variety of human capital fields and specializing in aviation, Marty facilitates large-scale organizational change, including merger and acquisition integration, financial turnarounds, IPOs, bankruptcy, and restructurings. He advises global companies.
Samuel Mugoya
Nairobi, Kenya
Samuel has more than 10 years of capital markets and syndications experience as an executive at the Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank and the African Export Import Bank. Previously, Samuel had a 20-year career with Uganda Commercial Bank and Royal Dutch Shell Group. He has coached and managed high-performing teams in executing and delivering landmark transactions and projects.
Thomas Wenck
Basel, Switzerland
Thomas is the Chairman of Beyond Capital Switzerland, a Basel-based tax-exempt association affiliated with Beyond Capital’s U.S. 501(c)3. Thomas is a Partner responsible for the tax division at Hoffman & Partner, an accounting firm in Basel. In his role, he advises companies on domestic and international tax issues, including tax optimization and planning, particularly assessments and corporate transactions.
Abilash Jaikumar
Mumbai, India
Abilash is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of TresVista Financial Services, a leading provider of financial services, research, and data analytics for asset managers, investment banks, research firms, and corporates. He has worked in investment banking and private equity and has been involved in more than $20 billion of financing and M&A activity. He previously worked at Alta Communications and Merrill Lynch.
Eric Deltour
Brussels, Belgium
Eric is a Beyond Capital Board Member and Partner at Dechert LLP specializing in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, private equity, joint ventures, and arbitration. Eric represents and advises domestic and international clients in transactions such as buy-outs, acquisitions, takeover bids, shareholders agreements and disputes, joint venture structures, and venture capital investments. He also serves of Dechert’s Impact Investing Council.
Gabriel Eckenstein
Basel, Switzerland
Gabriel is a member of the Beyond Capital Board of Directors and the Director of his family's foundation (the Eckenstein-Geigy-Stiftung), based in Basel, Switzerland. Through his foundation, Gabriel is an impact investor as a member of the Beyond Platform and supports health and children’s causes at home and abroad. For the last 16 years, he has also worked as a dealer in traditional Japanese Arts.
